Shoplifter Resists Arrest, Assaults Ofifcer, Attempts to Flee

MOBILE Ala. Police were dispatched to a shoplifting incident on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 10:25 a.m.
As officers approached the intersection of Etta Avenue and Prichard Avenue, officers discovered the subject walking in the area with the items in hand and attempted to detain the subject.
At this point, the suspect, later identified as DeAngelo Perryman, 42, physically resisted arrest, struggling with and assaulting the officers before attempting to flee on foot.
Additional officers arrived and Perryman was taken into custody.
One officer received minor injuries.
Perryman is charged with:
Attempt to Elude, Resisting Arrest, Assault Law Enforcement
Perryman, 42, was transported to Metro Jail.
