CREOLA, Ala. Creola police were called to a disturbance at a house off Highway 43 at around midnight according to the Creola Police Chief Shane Stringer.
When officers arrived at the residence, they heard a commotion and officers, thinking that someone needed help, busted down the door to get inside.
Officers found several people involved in an altercation and they began fighting the officers and they were taken into custody.
After speaking with an alleged victim, a teen told officers she met a man online and he tried to sexually assault her.
Officers arrested the bruised and beaten convicted sex offender, Jeremiah McDougal, who is now accused of assaulting a 16-year-old girl.
Alabama’s sex offender registry shows McDougal was convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl in 2021.
Stringer said anyone, especially teenagers, who are using the internet, should always be cautious.
McDougal is being held at the Mobile County Metro Jail and currently has no bond. He’s scheduled for his first court appearance on June 18, 2025.
