Brush and grass that was being burned along County Road 13 in Fairhope Saturday morning got away from the person watching it as winds began picking up in the area.
The “controlled” burn began to spread and several area fire departments were called in to stop the fire from spreading further.
Firefighters arrived at the area of 21251 CR 13 around 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning and quickly got to work getting the fire under control.
Winds at this time were beginning to pick up as storms were making their way into the area.
Fairhope and Barnwell Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the call for help and brought the fire under control within an hour or so.
There were no buildings damaged.
No injuries were reported on the scene either.
