Serious Wreck Critically Injures Person on I-65

BALDWIN COUNTY, AL. An extremely serious, multiple vehicle traffic collision on Interstate 65 on Saturday afternoon critically injured at least one person and EMS treated several others as well.
According to ALEA troopers, a pickup truck with a trailer attached was hauling another vehicle, a second pickup truck and a third vehicle all became involved in the traffic collision at around 4:00 p.m.
One person who at first was thought to have been ejected from one of those vehicles, had extricated himself from the wreck and laid down on the Interstate, bleeding from his head.
Multiple area volunteer fire departments, Baldwin County sheriff deputies, EMS and a medical helicopter all dispatched to the scene.
Traffic southbound around exit 26 was backed up for miles as the highway was temporarily shut down for more than an hour.
ALEA said that they are continuing to investigate this wreck.
