Tommy Tuberville has had many irons in the fire as they say. From leading a nationally recognized college football team for ten years, being a businessman, and making a successful run for the U.S. Senate in 2021.
Now U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is considering a new job title.
Recently Tuberville has made it known that he is weighing his options to become Alabama’s next governor in 2026 and not to seek another term in the Senate.
As with all politics, it’s important to see who in your party would support that effort and if the funding through donors would be strong enough to overcome any challenges.
According to Punchbowl News, Tuberville is telling senators and associates he wants to run for governor in 2026 instead of seeking another term in the Senate.
Gov. Kay Ivey is term-limited from running for re-election.
It’s still a bit too early to know whether Tuberville will make a run for Alabama’s highest office, but the seventy-year-old Tuberville said that he may announce his decision as early as May.
