Semmes Man Arrested on 5 Counts of Child Pornography

SEMMES, Ala.
A man who was having data transferred from one cellphone to another has been arrested on five counts of possession of child pornography.
Semmes Police Chief, Todd Friend said that an AT&T employee spotted child pornography on the phone belonging to 64-year-old Russell Smith.
Police were called to the store on Wednesday at around 10:00 a.m. and officers detained Smith during their investigation.
Chief Friend said during the investigation, officers found five photos depicting naked or partially naked children and police questioned Smith.
At that point the police obtained a search warrant for the home of Smith and were able to gather additional evidence of a crime.
Smith was brought to the metro jail and has been booked on felony charges.
