ROBERTSDALE, Ala. A Robertsdale police officer is being praised on social media and throughout Baldwin County for a small gesture of kindness.
Robertsdale Police Officer Ethan Turberville found out that some area youth’s basketball net had been ripped during the storm and that the kids were playing without one.
He took it upon himself not only to get a new net, but he also installed it, bringing big smiles to several teens.
Ethan has been with the Robertsdale police force for just two months, but he previously served as a police officer with the Mobile Police Department for several years. Ethan grew up in Robertsdale, and one of his goals was to return home and serve the community he grew up in.
Lt. Paul Overstreet stated that Tuberville simply stated that he saw a situation where he could help, so he did. He didn’t think much else of it. It is clear from the short time we’ve known him that helping others is his passion.
Small gestures can make a big impact in ways we might never realize.
It’s acts of kindness like this that can make such a big difference.
Thank you, Officer Turberville, for going above and beyond!
