MOBILE, Ala. Nationwide, tens of thousands of people attended No Kings Day protests including about 1,500 people who were involved in a peaceful protest downtown Mobile Saturday.
The Mobile police had a strong police presence along Government Street and in the downtown area just in case something got out of hand but stated that for the most part, people were orderly, peaceful and only protested for about 90 minutes.
Protestors say they are standing up for democracy and against what they call authoritarian actions by the Trump administration.
According to law enforcement, more than 3,000 protests were held in cities across the country with a similar message.
At this time, police in our area have reported no incidents or arrests related to the protests.
