Police Recover Body of Boater in Dog River

A search and rescue on Thursday involving multiple emergency first responders ended tragically with the receiver of a deceased person.
The Mobile police were first dispatched to the area of Dog River after receiving a report of a missing boater.
The Mobile police, fire department, Marine Police and Daphne Search and Rescue participated in the search and at around 1 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025, did recover the body of the boater.
A witness reported that a boat had flipped over, he saw a man swimming toward the shore, but that the man went under the water but did not resurface.
The search location was concentrated near Navco Park and 1957 River Road off the Dauphin Island Parkway.
ALEA is currently investigating the boating accident. No other information is currently available.
