MOBILE, Ala. Police have arrested a woman they say ran over a man with her vehicle during a domestic violence incident.
Police officers were called to a report of a person being struck by a car on Tuesday night around 10:30 p.m. at the Mobile Extended Stay, located at 1520 Matzenger Drive.
When officers arrived at the location, they found a man was injured and Mobile Fire-Rescue was called. EMS said that the man had life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
Patrol officers called in detectives who investigated further and spoke with the man struck by the vehicle. He said he tried to put the seatbelt on Hardy as she prepared to leave, and she responded by trying to push him out of the vehicle and closed the door on his arm.
The driver, later identified as Mary Margaret Hardy, 66, allegedly put the vehicle in drive and drove off with the man “attached to the vehicle, ultimately running him over.”
Hardy was arrested for first-degree domestic violence and booked into Metro Jail.
