Police Arrest Mother After Shooting Her 1 Year Old Child

Mobile police have arrested the mother of a one-year-old daughter after shooting her on Tuesday.

Police officers were dispatched to the 6900 block of Dickens Ferry Road at 4:50 am, Tuesday morning after the woman fired a gun that sent a bullet flying into the arm of her child.

Joli Reid, 33, the child’s mother was arrested for first-degree assault according to police.

Police did not identify why the woman fired the gun or if she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

No one else has been arrested in this incident.
