Police Arrest Man Impersonating Mobile County Deputy Sheriff
MOBILE Ala.
A disturbance at a business on Old Shell ended when police discovered that a man was impersonating a Mobile County deputy sheriff.
Mobile police were originally called to 5628 Old Shell Road (Chef King) in reference to a disorderly conduct call.
When officers arrived, they were met by a man who identified himself as a Mobile County deputy sheriff who said that he tried to detain a person who was causing a disturbance.
Upon further investigation, officers discovered the subject entered the location prior to their arrival and had a brief verbal altercation with a male victim inside and the subject rammed the victim’s vehicle, causing minor damage.
During the investigation, police discovered that Kenneth Salter, 57 who had earlier identified himself as a deputy sheriff, was not employed by MCSO or any other law enforcement agency.
Salter was arrested and transported to the Mobile Metro Jail.
