911 Calls About Person Lying on Interstate 10 Sends First Responders from Two States

BALDWIN COUNTY Ala. A report of a man lying on Interstate 10 near the Florida state line sent numerous emergency agencies in search of what was believed to be an injured person.
At around 8:10 a.m. Monday, May 19th, 2025, calls to 911 reported that a man was seen lying near the breakdown lane either ill or injured and the Florida Highway Patrol, Alabama State Troopers, Rosinton and Styx River Fire Departments, and an ambulance from Florida and Alabama were all dispatched to search for the person.
A Florida state trooper located the person and determined that he was not injured or ill but had been walking on the interstate and stopped to rest.
Law enforcement took control of the scene and all other first responders went back into service.
