1 Person Killed in Perdido Beach Structure Fire

A heavily involved structure fire is what firefighters found after being dispatched to a home on Hildreth Drive Saturday night.

The Baldwin County 911 Center began receiving calls about a house fire at around 8:20 p.m. and dispatched the Perdido Beach Fire Department to the address.

Arriving firefighters said that the house was engulfed in fire and began an immediate exterior attack.

The Lillian, Elberta and Josephine Fire Departments were also dispatched as part of an automatic mutual-aid agreement.

The fire department reported that a person died in the fire though the name of the individual has not been released yet.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire and were at the scene for several hours.

The fire caused heavy damage. There were no reports of any injuries.
