Pedestrian Struck by Trash Truck in Elberta in Critical Condition

ELBERTA, Ala. One person is in critical condition after being struck by a trash truck in Elberta Tuesday morning.
According to law enforcement, a pedestrian was crossing the street in the area of US 98 and Sherwood Drive when the truck collided with the unidentified person.
Fire, EMS and police were immediately dispatched to the scene and found the man critically injured.
A medical helicopter responded and airlifted the person to an area trauma center.
A witness on scene told us that he thought the person was deceased
The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and ALEA troopers also responded.
ALEA is currently conducting an investigation.
