Baldwin County Woman Indicted on Child Abuse Charges

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. A Baldwin County woman has been indicted on child abuse charges and not protecting a child from being sexually abused.
The grand jury has returned an indictment against 38-year-old Barbora Mrkvicova.
Prosecutors said that, between January 2024 and May 2025, Mrkvicova failed to protect the victim from sexual abuse and failed to get the child medical treatment.
The indictment charged Mrkvicova with torture/willful abuse of a child and domestic violence strangulation,
Police also accuse her of sexually abusing the child and of strangling or attempting to strangle the child.
Her bond is set at $30,000, with strict conditions, including no contact with the victim or any child under 18.
Currently Mrkvicova is being held at the county detention center but if she posts bond, she will be on house arrest with GPS monitoring.
According to public records her next court date is scheduled for November 4th, 2026.
