One Person Shot After Murphy High Basketball Game

MOBILE, Ala. A confrontation during and after a high school basketball game led to shots fired, people screaming and running for their lives and has left one person in critical condition.
This all occurred near Murphy High School when police say a fight broke out, at around 8:30 p.m., leading to shots being fired and one person shot with life-threatening injuries.
Dozens of people were leaving the gym after the basketball game between Murphy and Blount High School when gunfire erupted nearby. One person said they heard about 30 gunshots.
Mobile police and Mobile Fire-Rescue were on scene quickly and the injured person who has not been identified was immediately taken to an area hospital.
Mobile police searched for evidence in the parking lot next to the Murphy gym.
A Mobile police spokesperson said no arrests were made but that this is an active investigation.
