No Evacuations During Gas Leak Near Magnolia Springs

FOLEY, Ala. A large gas leak caused a part of US Highway 98 near the Magnolia Springs and Foley line to be shut down on Wednesday.

The leak was reported just before 11:00 a.m., causing considerable concerns, and it was determined that traffic had to be rediverted in the area.

The Magnolia Springs and Foley Fire Departments were both dispatched to the area for fire protection and traffic control.

Utility workers arrived, and repairs took several hours.

There were no injuries reported and no evacuations.
