Morning Apartment Fire Causes Moderate Damage

MOBILE, Ala. Mobile firefighters were called to an apartment fire this morning that caused moderate damage to a ground level unit.
At around 10:00 a.m. the Mobile Fire Rescue arrived at the Bay Pointe Apartments located at 2419 St Stephens Rd and found heavy smoke coming from a rear apartment.
Firefighters immediately put an interior attack in place and brought the fire under control in a short amount of time. Firefighters also overhauled the unit and checked adjoining apartment for exposure.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
