Mobile Police Investigating Shooting Death

MOBILE, Ala. Police in Mobile are reporting that a 35-year-old woman was shot and killed overnight at a residence on High Street

911 dispatched Mobile police and fire departments to a residence located in the 2200 block at about 1:15 a.m.

Upon arrival, the officers found that Velgenia Brown was deceased inside.

Police said a male subject remained on scene and has cooperated with investigators.

The MPD said this was an incident between individuals known to each other, but did not expound on what happened.

However, Mobile police said that they have turned the investigation over to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office.
