Mobile Police Investigating Double Fatal Shooting

MOBILE Ala. Police are investigating a double fatal shooting that happened in the city over the weekend.
Police were called to a home on Ross Street where they found one person deceased and during their investigation officers determined that a second person was also deceased.
On Sunday, June 8, 2025, at approximately 5:39 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Ross Street regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims deceased inside of the home.
Upon further investigation, officers discovered the victims, along with a male subject, were related to one another.
The deceased have been identified as Traci McDuffie, 52, and Brandon McDuffie, 25. The investigation revealed Brandon McDuffie fatally shot his mother, Traci McDuffie, and that’s when Traci’s other son discovered what occurred. At that point, Brandon McDuffie shot towards the other son, causing the other son to defend himself by shooting Brandon.
The death of Traci McDuffie is abated by the death of Brandon McDuffie.
The death of Brandon McDuffie will be presented to a grand jury.
