Mobile Police Charge MS. Woman With Forgery, Resisting Arrest

MOBILE, Ala. The Mobile police department received a call for assistance at the Century Bank on Cottage Hill Road on Thursday around 4:30 p.m.
A bank employee told a 911 dispatcher that they thought that a woman at the bank had presented a forged document to them.

Police arrived and found her and then questioned Elema Helm, 74, of Gulfport Mississippi.

At some point, as officers were attempting to detain the woman, she began resisting and was arrested.

Helm has been charged with possession of a forged instrument and resisting arrest.

She was transported to the Mobile jail.
