Mobile Police Arrest Man in Sunday’s Downtown Shooting

MOBILE, AL. A weekend shooting in downtown Mobile left several people injured and vehicles with bullet holes in them.
Now, the Mobile Police Department has arrested a man that they say is responsible for the shooting that left two people injured and six vehicles damaged by bullets.
Mole police identified 22-year-old Taurean Richardson as the shooter, and he was arrested on Monday, Aug. 11, 2025.
The shooting in the area of St. Francis Street and Franklin Street around 2:30 a.m. Sunday also involved the theft of a woman’s cellphone.
When officers arrived, they said they found that two men had been taken by personal vehicle to local hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.
“Investigators learned there was an exchange of gunfire between other individuals during the incident, resulting in the victim’s injuries.
Richardson is charged with first-degree robbery and two counts of discharging a gun into an unoccupied/occupied vehicle.
Police said that more arrests are expected.
