Mobile Man Fired Shots Into House Because He Didn’t Like a Comment

MOBILE, AL. An arrest has been made after a man fired shots into a residence because he did not like a comment that the victim had made.
Mobile police officers were called to Colonial Oaks Drive North, in reference to the shooting on Wednesday June 17, 2026, and the resident informed them that the man had fired at his home.
Police stopped a person of interest, and he was detained without further incident, and brought to Police Headquarters for questioning.
During the investigation, it was determined that the subject, identified as Russell Yates, 19, was responsible for the shooting and he was arrested and transported to Metro Jail.
Yates faces charges of:

RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT
ATTEMPT TO ELUDE
