Mobile House Fire Sends 1 Person to Hospital

A residential fire was reported to the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department Thursday at around 12:15 p.m.

MFRD firefighters arrived at the 5400 block of Spring Drive to find smoke and fire showing from the rear of structure and there was also a vehicle on fire in the rear carport and patio area.

Mobile police and an ambulance also arrived on scene at about the same time while firefighters made an entry into the residence to search for any occupants.

Paramedics on the scene aided two residents who had already evacuated, along with a young grandson who was visiting. A male was treated by paramedics on scene and transported by MFRD ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze quickly and without injury to them.

The fire remains under investigation currently.
