Already cramped for parking spaces in downtown Mobile, the city has had to look for alternative parking areas for the upcoming Mardi Gras.
The more than 100 RVs and campers that parking under the I-10 bridge had also been notified months ago that due to area construction, there would be parking there either.
But recently Mobile officials announced that some parking has been made available at area lots and now, they have also announced that parking will be available at the Mobile Alabama Cruise Terminal during parades, but it’s not going to be free!
It will be reasonably priced however at just $10 for all day parking!
The terminal will open for parking on February 14th, when the Conde Cavaliers roll through Mobile.
Additional parking will be available during the parades beneath the Interstate 10 overpass, but not for camping or long-term accommodation according to city officials.
These parking areas will be open on all parade days two hours before the first parade and available until 11 p.m.
The release said security will be on-site after hours so those attending balls or other events downtown can access their vehicles after 11 p.m.
Payments can be made through the Premium Parking app or with a debit or credit card at the Premium Parking kiosk.
Cash will not be accepted, according to the release.
