Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Pursuit Involves Wreck; 1 Arrest

MOBILE, Ala.

Deputy sheriffs with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a motorcycle but the driver fled and engaged law enforcement in a pursuit.

As the pursuit continued, a motor vehicle pulled out in front of the deputy causing him to wreck.

The suspect who was later identified as Corey Lee Hammac soon fled on foot into some woods but was soon captured by officers.

Hammac faces charges of felony eluding, reckless endangerment, obscuring a vehicle’s identification, and probation revocation.

Jeff Haller with the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department said one person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
