Mobile Bar Fight Ends With Person Dead-Suspect Charged With Murder

MOBILE, AL. A fight, a gunshot, and a bar, has led to the fatal shooting of a man early Sunday morning.
Multiple police officers were dispatched on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at approximately 2:08 a.m. to 1441 Navco Road where it was reported that a person had been shot.
Mobile police, Mobile Fire-Rescue and EMS arrived quickly at the scene located at Poinse’s Lounge.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police soon discovered that a physical altercation had taken place in the parking lot between several individuals when a male subject shot the victim.
The subject, DelJuan Thomas, 29, was located a short time later and taken into custody without incident. He was arrested and transported to Metro Jail.
The name of the victim will be released once next of kin has been notified.
Thomas has been charged with murder.
