ROSINTON COMMUNITY, Ala. First responders are used to responding to all types of emergencies ranging from medical issues to car accidents, to the occasional animal or person stuck in a tree and even plane crashes.
A few days ago, an emergency 911 call sent several fire departments and law enforcement responding to one of those calls near Interstate 10 Eastbound, in the Rosinton Community.
A driver called 911 thinking that a plane had crashed onto or near the highway.
Several departments, EMS and law enforcement were dispatched to the area but after searching both the east and west sides of I-10 for several miles, no one found a wreckage.
While the search continued, a call of a brush fire in the same area was also dispatched out to the same fire departments, and yes, a small fire was discovered.
After an investigation, it was determined that someone in a vehicle had fired off some fireworks into the sky which another driver thought was a plane crashing and the mystery was solved.
The small fire was extinguished and there were no injuries reported.
