CITRONELLE, Ala. An investigation is underway after a woman found her horse shot to death in her pasture.
The owner, Kim Fincham said she arrived at her pasture off U.S. Highway 45 to find her horse deceased and that it had been shot.
Fincham said that she made the drive from Saraland to Citronelle several times a week since getting Precious in 2020, feeding and caring for the horse and is heart broken over her death.
I loved that horse. She and I had a connection, and we spent a lot of time together trail riding.
“It broke my heart,” Fincham said. “We spent a lot of time trail riding; she was a good horse.”
On Wednesday, Fincham said she came to feed Precious like usual. While she was there, she heard several gunshots coming from outside the pasture.
“It was about 2 or 3, I wouldn’t say rounds, but it was burst firing was what it was,” Fincham said. “It was in sequence, so kind of close together.”
At the time, Fincham said she did not think much of the gunfire. But when she came back Thursday evening, Precious was not at the fence to greet her.
Fincham did find her horse bloated and deceased in another area of the pasture.
Maybe it was an accidental shooting, or maybe not.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said a report has been filed, and the case is under investigation.
