Hit and Run Driver Arrested in Fatal Wreck

MOBILE COUNTY, AL. A single-vehicle crash involving a bicyclist occurred at approximately 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, and has claimed the life of an Irvington man.
Jessie E. Forrest, 70, was fatally injured when the bicycle he was operating on was struck in the rear by a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Dwayne A. Mills, 41, of Mobile.
After the collision, Mills failed to stop and fled the scene of the crash. Forrest was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Mills was eventually located by Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division.
Mills has been arrested and charged with Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Manslaughter.
Mills was placed in the Mobile County Jail and currently does not have a bond.
Deputies with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office (MSCO) assisted in locating and arresting Mills.
The crash occurred on Beverly Road near Argyle Road, approximately nine miles west of the Mobile city limits, in Mobile County.
