FOLEY Ala. The Foley Police Department was called to the Walmart store on South McKenzie Street to investigate a sexual assault on Thursday.
On August 28th at around 12:45 P.M., officers responded to a report of a sexual assault at the supercenter store.
The investigation revealed that the offender was being assessed for job-related skills by a non-profit organization that works with individuals with mental deficiencies and was not affiliated with Walmart when the sexual assault took place.
A Walmart employee, who was not connected to either party, quickly came to the aid of the victim. That individual was able to intervene and stop the assault. The swift action of the employee allowed officers to quickly apprehend the offender.
Foley PD commends this employee for their courage and instinct to intervene.
The suspect Jaheim Jamaal Williams, age 23, a legal Foreign National living in Gulf Shores with parents, was taken into custody and charged with Sexual Abuse 1st degree (Class C Felony) and Reckless Endangerment (Class A Misdemeanor).
