Fleeing Driver Charged with Eluding, Theft of Vehicle

On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Mobile Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic infractions in the 2400 block of Halls Mill Road.

Police had activated their emergency lights and sirens, but the driver, later identified as John Brown, 26, failed to yield and fled police, leading them on a pursuit.

As the pursuit neared the intersection of Tanglewood Drive and Maitre Park with multiple officers now involved in the chase, the vehicle was stopped and the driver arrested.

The vehicle had been stolen earlier in the day from a home on Fairway Drive.

Brown was transported to the Mobile Metro Jail and charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement.
