THEODORE AL. A house fire Sunday morning, July 5th, 2026, has destroyed the home according to fire department personnel.
Theodore-Dawes Fire Rescue reported that a fire broke during the early-morning hours at a home in the 7700 block of Garden Grove Drive.
As firefighters arrived, they could see heavy fire showing from all sides of a single-story brick residence, with flames spreading into nearby grass.
Theodore Dawes Fire Rescue said crews launched an aggressive attack while also protecting a nearby home on the Bravo side of the structure. During operations, firefighters found fire extending beneath the floor, requiring additional suppression and overhaul to fully extinguish the blaze.
As firefighters battled the blaze, additional crews were called in from the Fowl River Fire District and the St. Elmo-Irvington Fire Department, as part of their mutual-aid agreement.
The fire department reported no injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
