Fire Department Battles Abandoned Building Fire

MOBILE, Ala. The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department was dispatched to a structure fire Saturday morning on Clay Street, and before arriving on the scene, firefighters could see heavy smoke coming from the area.
As firefighters arrived in the 300 block of Clay Street at around 9:30 a.m., they were met with heavy fire coming from the building.
Firefighters searched for anyone inside the structure but found the house to be empty and abandoned.
The structure suffered substantial fire damage.
The MFR department reported no injuries.
