Family Loses Home During Fire

A mobile home was heavily damaged during a fire Friday morning at around 6 a.m.

The Mobile Fire Rescue and police responded to the house located in the 6500 block of Shady Lane where they found flames coming from the home and several people standing outside.

Firefighters reported that as they arrived, they saw smoke coming from the home.

The fire department reported that a fire in a utility room had spread to the attic, though they had not determined what started the fire.

The home had significant water and smoke damage and six people now are currently without a home.

Six people living there are trying to find a new place to live.
