A Fairhope woman has been arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer while involved in a road rage incident that occurred on September 28th.
The woman, identified as Catherine Findley tailed another vehicle on US Highway 98 through Daphne attempting to pull her over but the woman, who does not want to be identified, continued driving but she eventually pulled into a parking lot, where Findley blocked them in.
Findley hopped out of her car and began banging on the windows and screaming at the driver to get out.
“It was almost like she believed we had kidnapped a child,” said the victim. “She kept banging and screaming at our car trying to bust our rear-view window, our passenger window and driver
The victim said Findley was demanding to know who the child belonged to.
The occupants of the vehicle that pulled over were scared and confused as the woman kept screaming and trying to bust out the windows demanding to know where they got the child that was in the car.
“I was just worried that glass would hit my baby, or something would happen to my child,” she said.
The woman fled before police could get there but witnesses provided a license plate number to the police, and they were able to arrest her at her home.
Findley held up a makeup case, claiming it was her badge, and identified herself as an officer of the law.
Police believe Findley targeted the couple because they had a “Baby on Board” sticker on their car.
Findley has since been released on a $5,000 bond and police said they have not had any prior contact with her.
