FAIRHOPE, Ala. Another hoax bomb threat was called into the Fairhope Police Department on Sunday night, April 3rd, 2026, making it at least the fourth hoax call to the city in two years.
The Fairhope Municipal Pier was closed temporarily Sunday evening after the Fairhope Police Department received the bomb threat and the Mobile Bomb Squad responded to the area.
According to Fairhope Police, the threat was called into the police department as an outdoor theater performance was taking place on the bluff above the pier.
Police cleared the area as a precaution as officers and members of the bomb squad searched the area and after a “thorough sweep of the area” nothing was found and the area was declared safe.
The pier and bluff were reopened and no injuries were reported.
Similar hoaxes have rattled people in Fairhope on multiple occasions.
The incident is still under investigation.
