ALEA Investigating Fatal Conecuh County Crash

CONECUH COUNTY, Ala. A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:16 p.m. Friday, May 1, has claimed the life of a California woman.

ALEA troopers have reported that Virginia L. Preciado, 72, Daly City, Calif., was fatally injured when the 2021 Land Rover, she was a passenger in, left the roadway and struck multiple trees before becoming engulfed in flames.

Preciado was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Land Rover was Bernard Sanders, 56, of Santa Clara, California.

The crash occurred on Conecuh County 6 near Brushy Creek Road, approximately 10 miles northwest of Repton City Limits, in Conecuh County.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
