FAIRHOPE Ala.
Police in Fairhope responded to a call about armed men forcing their way into a residence and stealing an AR-15 rifle.
Police say that the men came to a couple’s home on Twin Beech Avenue brandishing firearms.
The men threatened the residents with harm and said that they were there for an AR-15 rifle that had been given to the resident of the home as a gift.
Officers say that the two men were acquaintances.
Cullen Michael Kerr and John Harold Taber Montesano were identified to police as the men who had forced their way into the home.
Police located and arrested Kerr Thursday night, while Montesano was arrested Friday morning, according to police.
Both men have been charged with first-degree burglary and taken to the Baldwin County Correctional Center, Fairhope police say.
Authorities say it is unclear whether the weapon was a gift or a loan.
