Fairhope Library Loses State Funding Over Inapproriate Books

State funding for libraries is important to maintain their services, staffing levels, and other operational functions for the use of the public but Fairhope recently lost its state funding due to some questionable books made available to the public.
The Alabama Public Library System reportedly withdrew funding to the library after complaints from a group of concerned citizens who believed that some books offered could be deemed inappropriate.
The Alabama Public Library System confirmed that they withdrew funding from the library for not complying with policy changes. However, the report indicated that funding will be reinstated once the library becomes compliant.
