The Fairhope Fire Department was kept busy Saturday answering numerous calls for help including a late afternoon structure fire on Normandy Street.
Firefighters from Fairhope and other mutual-aid fire departments responded to the home at around 4:30 p.m. and found a working fire when they arrived. Smoke was coming from the roof.
The fire was brought under control and completely extinguished in just under two hours. Damage to the home was reported to be substantial.
While the Fairhope firefighters were getting the fire under control, other fire departments stood by at their fire department to answer any other emergency calls in the city.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire has not been determined at this time.
