Fairhope Announces Prescribed Burn in Fly Creek Area

The City of Fairhope has announced that a “prescribed burn” will be happening today.

This fire will take place in the Fly Creek area.

The burn is essential to improving the understory of the nature preserve and will be conducted under strict requirements by the Alabama Forestry Commission and in cooperation with the City of Fairhope, volunteer firefighters, and the prescribed burn manager.

This fire will last throughout the day.
