Experimental Helicopter Crashes Injuring Pilot

MOBILE, AL. A small, experimental helicopter crash landed on Friday, January 8, 2026 according to law enforcement.
The one-man aircraft came down, making a hard landing Thursday on the beach along Bay Front Road, near Dauphin Island Parkway according to authorities and the pilot was injured but had no serious injuries.
Law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMS responded to the call of the crash.
Witnesses said the aircraft was coming down fast and that the crash occurred as the helicopter was almost on the ground.
In December of 2024, an experimental gyroplane crashed in Foley at the Foley Municipal Airport killing the 67-year-old pilot.
