Driver Leads Police on Pursuit Before Crashing

MOBILE, AL. Police officers in Mobile attempted a traffic stop in the area of Houston Street and Virginia Street Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3:12 p.m., but the driver refused to stop.
Instead, a Mobil police spokesperson said that the driver led officers on a pursuit that ended in the 600 block of Williams Street where the driver wrecked his vehicle and ran on foot.
Officers were able to quickly detain the subject nearby a short time later.
Mason Marzette, 30, was arrested and transported to Metro Jail.
Marzette has been charged with:
FELONY ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE POLICE
FELONY RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT
TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE
POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
Marzette remains in the metro jail.
