Driver Extricated From Vehicle on Hwy 104 After Serious Wreck

FAIRHOPE, Ala. An early Tuesday morning wreck between Silverhill and Fairhope left one person trapped and seriously injured.
The Baldwin County 911 Communications Center received a call reporting a serious crash on State Highway 104 near Mile Marker 4 at around 1:37 a.m.
Authorities said that the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree, entrapping the person inside.
Fairhope and Silverhill police and the Fairhope fire department responded to the scene as did a Medstar ambulance.
Fairhope firefighters had to extricate the driver from the vehicle because they were pinned in.
Because of the nature of the injuries, a medical helicopter was also dispatched to the wreck, and a landing zone was set up on the 3C Church property at State Highways 181 and 104 and the patient was airlifted to a trauma center.
The accident remains under investigation.
