DAUPHIN ISLAND Ala. Several rounds of heavy storms that moved through the area overnight and early Saturday morning have left damage in Mobile and Baldwin Counties and the mayor of Dauphin Island has reported damage to some structures and marina.
Power lines and some trees were also reported to be down on the island.
The Dauphin Island police are currently assessing the damage on the island according to the mayor.
Mayor Jeff Collier says that there is damage being reported throughout the island and power lines may be down for a while, but further assessment is needed.
A tornado warning for south Mobile County was issued overnight and this damage may or may not be related to that warning.
I have also heard from an island resident that flooding on the west side of the island is pretty bad which is often the case during heavy rain storms.
Damage elsewhere along Alabama’s Gulf Coast is also being assessed this morning and we’ll bring you an update later this morning.
