Dauphin Island Public Safety Responds to Numerous Calls of Swimmers in Distress

DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala.

This past weekend was busy for Dauphin Island emergency personnel as they were called several times to assist swimmers in distress.

Rip currents caused several swimmers off-guard and emergency personnel were called.

The island’s public safety unit, police, and firefighters were called out for multiple calls for swimmers in distress.

There were no injuries or deaths according to the authorities.

This was due in part to rapid emergency response and bystander assistance.
