Dauphin Island Bridge Head-On Collision Kills Two

A tragic motor vehicle accident on the Dauphin Island bridge has claimed the lives of two persons and injured several others according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
The head-on collision occurred on the bridge in the early afternoon and shut down traffic onto and off from the island for many hours.
Traffic during the crash traffic was diverted away from the bridge.
Dauphin Island police and fire department, EMS and ALEA troopers all responded to the scene.
Traffic was flowing again on Alabama 193 by late afternoon and the bridge was reopened according to Mayor Jeff Collier’s Facebook page.
The names of the victims have not been released yet and ALEA stated that the investigation is still underway.
