City of Gulf Shores Announces Closures in Honor of Veterans Day
Gulf Shores, Ala. – In honor of Veterans Day, the City of Gulf Shores will have the following facility closures and changes to regular hours of operation:
- Emergency Services: The Gulf Shores Police Department, Gulf Shores Fire Rescue, and other emergency services will remain open as usual to ensure public safety and health.
- City Council Meeting: The regular City Council Meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 12, at 4 p.m.
- Garbage and Debris Pickup: Republic Services garbage pickup and city debris pickup will not be impacted and will run on the regular schedule. The Drop-Off Recycling Center will also remain open.
- Administrative Offices: City administrative offices will be closed on Monday, November 11. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, November 12, at 8 a.m.
- Gulf Shores Public Library: The library will be closed on Monday, November 11, with regular hours resuming on Tuesday, November 12.
- Recreation Centers: The David L. Bodenhamer Recreation Center will have special hours on Veterans Day, open from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Cultural Center will be closed on Monday, November 11, with regular hours resuming on Tuesday, November 12.
- Tennis Center: The George C. Meyer Tennis Center will be closed on Monday, November 11, although outdoor tennis courts will remain available. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, November 12.
- Pickleball Courts: The pickleball courts at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex will remain open for public use.
- City Store: The City Store will be closed on Monday, November 11, reopening on Tuesday, November 12.
- Gulf Shores Museum: The museum will be closed from Saturday, November 9, through Monday, November 11, reopening on Tuesday, November 12.
